We traveled by ferry to Bursa (see Google Earth map below) to meet the Friendship Force Club there, who hosted our group for 7 days. Our co-President, Maureen Butt, introduced herself at the marvelous Welcome Breakfast Brunch at a gorgeous restaurant. Bursa is about 3 hours south of Istanbul and the 4th largest city in the country. It is a prosperous place with manufacturing, food processing and banking industries. The club really showed us a warm welcome and had a great itinerary planned.
We visited an incredible museum which had a panorama dome of the Ottoman Conquest history. After a lovely dinner in the Merinos Park restaurant, we attended the season opening symphony of the Bursa State Symphony.

This was our host's home with a beautiful garden. Nazan was a terrific host, a talented cook and showed us wonderful hospitality. We were fortunate to stay with her and have her as our friend!

A ferry transported us about 50 miles by water from Istanbul to Bursa. Member of the Bursa club picked us up at the ferry dock for a pizza lunch before taking us to their respective homes. Click on the map to see the locations of the villages we visited with the Bursa club.
