Following another nice breakfast on the hotel's balcony, we walked a few blocks through old Istanbul's narrow but picturesque streets to a Turkish carpet shop. Joanne made the salesmen very happy when after bargaining she agreed to purchase a carpet for our office. We had to lug the carpet all the way back to Punta Gorda!
After our encounter with the carpet shop, we toured the Blue Mosque and surrounding area before another, you guessed it, wonderful lunch. We strolled through the Topkapi Palace in the afternoon followed by the Hagia Sofia in the late afternoon and another bazaar in the evening.

Although the Hagia Sofia is now a mosque, angels still look down from above. Christian mosaics remain outside.
