Summer Reads and Movies

Punta Gorda has been rainy this summer with constant little storms, even in the morning.  This is a different weather pattern that is normally seen.  Usually, we have afternoon thunderstorms.  

As a result, we've been doing lots of reading.  I really enjoyed Where the Crawdads Sing by Odelia Owens and The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See.  I got both from our local library.  Can't wait to see the new library.  It looks beautiful from the outside and is located next door to our History Park.  It should be ready for move in by next week!

Also saw a super documentary at Burns Cinema in Sarasota called Maiden.  It's an inspiring movies about the first all female crew to sail a race around the world.  We enjoyed Racing in the Rain, a sweet golden retriever story!
