Faroe Islands

Faroe Islands  The only time I ever heard about the Faroe Islands was from the Punta Gorda fish market who sells me "Faroe Island Salmon."  Yum, it is simple the best!  And, today, Viking Neptune docked here at the capital of Torshavn.  These islands are 250 miles west of Norway in the middle of the North Sea, affiliated with Denmark.  54,000 people live on 18 islands, totaling 541 sq miles.  They have a GDP of $69,000 pp - so pretty affluent from their fishing industry.  Who know?  Fun Fact:  Putin used to get his delicious lobster from here.  But NOT anymore!  After he invaded Ukraine, they cut him off.  We had a fun tour featuring traveling through sea tunnels between islands and visiting the charming home of a local.
